Hello Raptors, These are some of the Top 10 Books/Book series' that you should read. So now, in no particular order, here they are.
Harry Potter/ Percy Jackson series: I combined these two because I assumed a lot of you have already read these series, but for those who haven’t they are almost a necessity.
Out of my Mind by Sharon M. Draper: For fans of Wonder this is a must read!!! This follows the story of Melody, a young child born with a disease that doesn’t allow her to talk or move. She has a gift however, a photographic memory, and nobody knows it, until she discovers something to let her talk for the first time ever, but not everyone is ready to hear her voice..
Prey by Michael Crichton: This is for fans of techno-thrillers, created by the same man who created Jurassic Park. This novel tells of when an experiment in Nevada goes horribly wrong. A swarm of self-sustaining, self-reproducing, adapting nano-bots have been released. It has been programed as a predator, every attempt to stop it has failed, and we are the prey.
The Eye of Minds by James Dashner: Created by the same author who wrote the Maze Runner books, comes another interesting series. In a world with the VirtNet, a total mind and body immersion that allows you to experience the wonders of gaming to the fullest. The better your hacking abilities are, the more fun it is, that is until one gamer goes too far; with murderous results.
And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie: An exhilarating mystery where ten people are trapped on the island, and one of them is slowly killing the rest.
20 Thousand Leagues Under The Sea by Jules Verne- A classic novel where we meet Captain Nemo and his submarine the Nautilus, as they embark on a dangerous adventure, at the bottom of the ocean.
Holes by Louis Sachar: A great novel where Stanley Yelnats must redeem himself after being sent to a juvenile correction facility, where every day the dig one hole. As he stays there longer he begins to wonder what the guards are looking for.
The Wednesday Wars by Gary D. Schmidt: A coming of age story where Holling Hoodhood must face his teacher, Mrs. Baker, who is, “out to get him”. He must deal with his father’s expectations, peer pressure, and his one on one sessions with Mrs. Baker every Wednesday.
Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie by Jordan Sonnenblick: Steven is an average kid, he plays drums in his school’s band, hangs out with his friends, and has a little brother named Jeffery (who is the most annoying thing in the world). But when Jeffrey gets sick, Stevens world is turned upside-down, and he must try and deal with school, the band, his parents, and even Dangerous Pie. This novel is spectacular and with characters who are very relatable, the novel just takes off.
The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate: The outstanding novel and winner of the Newbery Medal tells of a gorilla named Ivan. He lives in a small carnival life place with his friends Bob the stray dog, and Stella the elephant. But when a baby elephant named Ruby arrives, change comes with her, and it is up to Ivan to make that change one for the better.
